Reservoir Dogs Soundtrack

Reservoir Dogs Soundtrack

The first soundtrack produced by Quentin Tarantino. It set the structure for his future soundtracks in that it interweaves songs and classic dialogue from the movie. Much of this dialogue comes from Steven Wright, who voiced the radio DJ on ‘K-Billy’s Super Sound of the Seventies’. His introductions to songs appear as they did in the film itself. Other classic dialogue on the Reservoir Dogs Soundtrack is the ‘Madonna Speech’, which took place in the diner at the beginning of the movie, and ‘Let’s Go Get a Taco’. This is the scene that begins with “What do you do if the Manager doesn’t give you the diamond” speech in the movie, performed largely by Harvey Keitel and includes Tim Roth.

Many, if not all, of the songs in the soundtrack went on to be synonymous with their respective scene of the movie. This was to become a hall mark of Tarantino films. For none is this truer than with Stealers Wheel’s song ‘Stuck in the Middle’, which features at number 11 on the track listing

Here’s a preview of the album:
